Located in southwest Idaho, Boise is easy to reach via plane, road and bus / train combination, and has good transport services. Boise is a remote city, yet it has a regional airport within its city limits and a major interstate highway goes right through the south of the city, with direct links to Portland and Salt Lake City.
Greyhound buses serve Boise both directly and indirectly, offering the cheapest long-distance travel option, while Amtrak operate train/bus combinations to Boise.

Boise Airport is situated a few miles south of the city center and is a transport hub for a large part of southern Idaho. There are flights here from many Western and some Midwestern hubs, with the likes of Alaska Airlines, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest and United offering services here. For those coming from overseas, Salt Lake City International Airport is the closest major air facility to Boise. Shuttles and taxis run from the airport to the city.
